WEB

Where Everyone Belongs (WEB)

The WEB program is a middle school orientation and transition program that welcomes our 6th graders and helps them to feel comfortable in their first year of middle school. The structure of the WEB program guides 6th graders to academic and social success by reducing the initial challenges of entering middle school.

With WEB, students help students succeed by using 8th grade students as peer mentors for our 6th grade students. As positive role models, these 8th grade WEB leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide 6th graders to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to middle school and help facilitate success.

At OPA-Middle School, every incoming 6th grader participates in WEB and is connected with an 8th grade WEB leader as a mentor. Current 7th graders interested in being a WEB Leader the following year will have an opportunity to submit their interest at the end of the school year. Training to be a WEB leader occurs during the summer.
