Career & Technical Education
What is CTE?
Career & Technical Education (CTE) is a program of study that integrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge to provide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers.
Why CTE?
When students are given the freedom and the right to explore, they often uncover hidden talents and fresh ideas they never realized they had, transforming their learning experience and sense of what they can achieve.
By applying their skills in real-world scenarios, students are not just passive learners but active creators, which prepares them for success in high school, college, and beyond.
OPA offers three CTE pathways: Information Communication & Technology, Business & Finance, and Arts, Media & Entertainment.
Arts, Media & Entertainment
Provides students with hands-on skills in project planning, design, and media production, building creativity and career readiness through real-world applications in digital arts.
Digital media and design fundamentals are applied using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premier Pro., to create graphics, and produce videos understanding ethical content creation and responsible social media use.
Advanced digital design, animation, and 3D modeling using Adobe After Effects, Blender, and Unreal Engine. Includes interactive media, social media, and yearbook project-based learning, using AI and VR/AR applications.
