OPA Shines at First Annual VE OC Trade Show

The first annual Virtual Enterprise (VE) Orange County (OC) Trade Show brought together 39 high schools and two middle schools—including OPA’s Middle School—making it a landmark event for student entrepreneurs across the region. OPA champions presented their entrepreneurial business Poppin' Matcha!

OPA champions developed their Poppin' Matcha simulated business as part of the Middle School's Business and Finance Career & Technical Education (CTE) program.

Poppin’ Matcha delivered standout results, generating over $5,000 in simulated sales. Students skillfully used prepared sales scripts, offered effective up-selling on merchandise and drink bundles, and engaged the crowd with enthusiasm.

In addition to competing in the trade show, OPA entered both the elevator pitch and social media competitions at the event. Out of all participating schools, OPA earned an impressive 4th place overall in the social media competition—an exciting achievement for the team.

Looking ahead, our Business and Finance CTE students are preparing for their next major event at San Diego State University on Monday, December 15. With more than 50 booths expected, the trip will also include a visit to SDSU’s Financial Markets Laboratory, where students will see a live stock ticker and receive an introduction to the stock market. This experience will help prepare them for participating in The Stock Market Game this spring.

OPA and Poppin’ Matcha are setting the bar high—and this is only the beginning.
