Middle School Marching Champions

The OPA Middle School Marching Champions had the honor of playing the National Anthem at the May 9, 2024 Angel's baseball game. The band, led by Mr. T Caballos, was part of a larger group of middle school students from the Orange County area invited to participate in the pre-game ceremony.

A large crowd of OPA Middle School staff and parents were also there to cheer them on, including Chancellor Burdette who was particularly proud of the champions: "It filled my heart with pride to see our OPA MS Marching Champions march out on the field of Angel Stadium and play the National Anthem. They played their hearts out in front of thousands of baseball fans. Amazing job OPA Eagles!"

The OPA-MS marching band is one of the very few middle school marching bands in the south Orange County area. Mr. Caballos (aka "Mr. T") leads a robust music program which also includes a strings program. The Marching Champions participate in a variety of community activities, including the Dana Point Festival of Whales Parade where they are 2-time recipients of the Best Musical Act award.
